Terms of Service

1) What the Service Does

Brainote.ai is an AI-powered study assistant that helps you:

• Create and organize notes.
• Summarize text and audio with AI.
• Generate quizzes and flashcards.
• Optionally create a podcast/audio version of your notes (text-to-speech).
• Record or upload audio for transcription and note creation.
• Upload and analyze documents (PDF, DOCX, PPT, TXT, etc.).
• Analyze YouTube links to generate notes.
• Export notes to PDF and sync across devices.

We may add, change, or remove features at any time.

2) Account & Eligibility

You must sign in to use the Service via Sign in with Apple, Sign in with Google, or other supported authentication methods. You are responsible for keeping your account secure and for all activity under it. The Service is intended for users 13+ (or older if required by local law).

3) Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Upload illegal, harmful, infringing, or abusive content.
• Violate others' intellectual property or privacy rights.
• Attempt to interfere with, reverse-engineer, or exploit the Service.
• Use AI outputs to deceive, harm, or violate laws/policies.

You must have the rights to any content you upload (audio, documents, links).

4) AI-Generated Content & Accuracy

The Service uses third-party AI models to process inputs and generate outputs (summaries, quizzes, flashcards, etc.). AI outputs may contain errors. You are responsible for verifying important information before relying on it.

5) Subscriptions & Payments

Some features require a paid subscription. Purchases are processed through Apple's App Store and Stripe for web payments and managed via RevenueCat. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. Manage or cancel in your Apple ID settings or subscription management page.

6) Intellectual Property

We and our licensors own all rights in the App and its content (excluding your uploads). You retain ownership of your uploads but grant us a license to process them solely to provide the Service.

7) Privacy

Your use of the Service is subject to our Privacy Policy. We use Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Storage, Analytics), RevenueCat (subscriptions), Stripe (web payments), and AI vendors to operate features. See Privacy Policy for details.

8) Service Availability & Changes

We may suspend, modify, or discontinue features at any time. We are not liable for outages, delays, or data loss beyond what the law requires.

9) Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, this section applies to the fullest extent permitted.

10) Account Deletion

You may delete your account and data:

• Via app/web interface: Settings → Delete Account (when available), or
• By email: contact theanemonelab@gmail.com from your registered email. Upon verification, we will permanently delete your account and associated data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., fraud prevention, billing records).

11) Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms. If we make material changes, we will notify you (e.g., in-app notice). Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
