Privacy Policy

1) Information We Collect

• Account Data: email, authentication provider (Apple/Google), display name (if provided).
• Content You Provide: notes, text, uploaded files (PDF, DOCX, PPT, TXT), audio recordings, YouTube links, and content derived from them (summaries, quizzes, flashcards, transcripts, TTS).
• Usage & Device Data: app events, device type/OS/version, browser type/version, approximate location/region (via Firebase Analytics).
• Cookies & Local Storage: session data, user preferences, and functional cookies.
• Payment & Entitlement Data: purchase status, product identifiers, subscription state (via Apple / RevenueCat and Stripe for web payments). We do not receive or store full payment card details.

2) How We Use Information

• Provide and improve the Service (create/sync notes, generate AI outputs).
• Operate authentication, storage, analytics, crash/error diagnostics.
• Enforce Terms, prevent fraud/abuse, comply with legal obligations.
• Communicate with you about updates, support, and important changes.

3) AI Processing

We use third-party AI services to process your content (e.g., transcription, summarization, quiz/flashcard generation, embeddings/RAG, text-to-speech). Examples include OpenAI, Google (Gemini), Meta/Llama (via compliant providers), DeepInfra/Whisper, and TTS vendors (e.g., ElevenLabs, Azure, AWS Polly). We transmit only the data needed for the requested feature and retain results in your account. We do not sell your personal data.

4) Sharing & Service Providers

We may share data with:

• Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Storage, Analytics)
• RevenueCat (subscription management)
• Stripe (web payment processing)
• AI vendors (processing content you request)
• Cloud infrastructure partners
• Government authorities when required by law

We require these parties to protect your data and use it only to provide the Service.

5) Data Storage & Security

Data is stored in Firebase Firestore and Firebase Storage and protected by industry-standard measures. No system is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6) Data Retention

We retain your data while your account is active. If you request deletion, we delete your account and associated data within 30 days, except where we must retain information for legal, security, or billing purposes.

7) Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing.

• Analytics Consent/Opt-out: you can request analytics opt-out via theanemonelab@gmail.com or use system settings if available.

8) Children

The Service is for users 13+ (or older if required by local law). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the applicable age.

9) Account Deletion

You can delete your account and data:

• Via app/web interface: Settings → Delete Account (when available), or
• By email: send a request to theanemonelab@gmail.com from your registered email. We will verify your identity and delete your account and associated data within 30 days, subject to lawful retention requirements.

10) International Transfers

We may process and store data on servers located outside your country. We use appropriate safeguards (e.g., standard contractual clauses) where required by law.

11) "Do Not Sell" / Marketing

We do not sell personal data. We may use aggregated, de-identified analytics to improve the Service. Marketing emails (if any) will include an opt-out link.

12) Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy. Material changes will be communicated (e.g., in-app notice). Continued use means you accept the updated Policy.
